About us.. We aim to give help to women who identify as gay or bisexual, or those who are questioning their sexuality, who feel they need a little support in their coming out journey. We believe there is a need in the North East area for those women who are newly out or thinking about coming out, women who might not know anyone gay and feel they need a little support in coming out, meeting new people etc. Our service will mainly appeal to women in their 20's, 30's and 40's who maybe want more than just someone to talk to at the end of a phone but don’t yet have the confidence to go to a gay bar or a support/social group on their own. We are very friendly and really want to help as we understand how difficult the process of coming out can be, the worry of meeting new friends, telling existing friends and family, going out on the scene for the first time, coming out at work etc. We believe it can be helpful to have someone to talk with, who has been there and understands what you are going through. We will provide friendship and support; this may involve supporting you in going to your first gay bar or just to meet regularly for a chat. We will meet in a public place for a coffee and a chat where we will discuss your needs and what support we might be able to offer you. At present we will only be able to meet up in the Newcastle area. Our service is very informal, relaxed and completely confidential. We will always meet you in a public place. We are not a counselling service and therefore may not be appropriate for women with particular support needs.
