Derwentside Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Group

The Derwentside LGB Group is a safe, informal, friendly place to meet in Derwentside. The group is a social, support group for lesbian, gay and bisexual people in the Derwentside area; however, people are welcome from all areas.

The group runs once a week on a Wednesday evening from 7-9pm in Consett and is service user led. The group offers support, one to one health information, advice, etc. The sessions are informal and involve general social discussion or issues involving the group as well as general LGB issues.

Recreational and education activities are also arranged for the group.

TYNESIDE YOUNG LESBIAN PROJECT

A voluntary organisation providing services for young women 25 and under who are lesbian, bisexual or think they might be. The Young Lesbian Group meets one evening per week, in central Newcastle. The group provides a safe, supportive environment, where young women can meet each other and have the opportunity to talk in confidence about their sexual orientation and related issues. We are a group of women who want to play football on a regular basis in a relaxed atmosphere, ranging from absolute beginners to people who have played before.

We meet every Wednesday at 7pm for a kick-about in Leazes Park in Newcastle upon Tyne (see map for details).
